Routes Connecting Communities is a York Region community based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people get to where they need to go. We improve access to basic needs and special destinations, enhance community engagement and improve social connections through safe, affordable, compassionate, and timely transportation. We help those who are experiencing social, physical, mental, and financial limitations to using common transportation methods, and are there in times of need for members of our communities
Services:
- Transportation for people who cannot travel by conventional transit or taxi due to financial, physical, or mental challenges
- Free and subsidized bus trips to shopping centres, special destinations, and local food banks
- Community Lunches: sit down and enjoy a hot fresh meal. Pay what you can
- Food delivery services: food bank groceries and meals to your door
- Tech support: one on one technology help. Also provides tech device lending
- Friendly calls and pen pals: matching people for friendly phone calls, letter writing, sharing artwork
- Brain Games booklets: activity books that can be done at home
- Connections & referrals to community programs
